Architects celebrate double recognition for hotel projects

Architecture practice Morrison Design is celebrating national recognition for two of its hotel projects.

The Derby firm’s projects for The Sloane Club and The Trafalgar St James Hotel have both been shortlisted in the Hotel of the Year category at the 2026 Brit List Awards.

Morrison Design was appointed architect for the extensive transformation of The Sloane Club, in Chelsea, a luxury private members’ club.

The project involved the refurbishment of all guest bedrooms and suites, alongside the reconfiguration and redesign of reception, lounges, bars and dining areas.

The scheme also saw the creation of a new rooftop terrace with an elegant all-season enclosure, as well as comprehensive upgrades to the building’s services and infrastructure.

At The Trafalgar St James Hotel, Morrison Design delivered a series of improvements focused on enhancing the arrival and guest experience.

The team reimagined the hotel’s ground-floor reception and arrival spaces, while also leading the creation of six new luxury guest suites at lower-ground level.

The Brit List Awards celebrate the people, projects and businesses shaping the UK hospitality industry, with the winners to be announced later this year.
