Flint Bishop, Willmott Dixon and Rothera Bray are among the latest Marketing Derby Bondholders to announce new appointments in recent weeks.

Law firm Flint Bishop has strengthened its executive leadership with the appointment of Mark Johnson as chief financial officer.

He joins from Browne Jacobson, where he played a pivotal role in a period of sustained expansion, helping to scale revenue from £70 million to £130 million in five years while driving improved profitability through disciplined financial strategy and targeted commercial initiatives.

His background includes senior financial planning and analysis roles at global organisations including Equifax, Experian and Capital One.

At Flint Bishop, Mark will lead the firm’s financial strategy with a clear focus on enabling growth, strengthening financial performance and embedding a highly accountable, forward-looking finance function.

Working closely with the executive team, he will play a central role in driving investment decisions, supporting geographic expansion and acquisitions, and enhancing financial governance across the business.

Chief executive Qamer Ghafoor said: “Mark is exactly the calibre of CFO we need at this stage in our journey.

“He brings a rare combination of commercial acumen, strategic clarity and a proven ability to scale organisations at pace.

“His focus on data-led decision-making, financial discipline and transformation will be instrumental as we continue to grow nationally and invest in the future of the firm.”

The firm has also recruited banking and finance litigation specialist Zarvin Vandrewala as partner and joint head of finance dispute resolution.

He joins from Aberdein Considine, where he was a partner advising financial services clients on a wide spectrum of contentious matters.

He brings more than 14 years’ experience acting for banks, financial institutions and commercial organisations on complex, large-scale litigation.

In his new role at Flint Bishop, he will take operational leadership of the finance dispute resolution team, working alongside joint head Kate Hicks to drive delivery, scale the practice and support continued client growth nationwide.

Mr Ghafoor said: “Zarvin is a standout addition to the business. His experience of leading teams, combined with his operational and strategic expertise, will be instrumental as we continue to scale our finance litigation offering and meet increasing client demand.”
