BB&J Commercial has secured an air ambulance charity as the new tenant for a retail unit in a Derbyshire town.

It has negotiated a new lease at 54–56 Bath Street, Ilkeston, on behalf of Duro Design and Build, with the new occupier being The Air Ambulance Service.

The new store is the first of its kind for charity, operating as a dual-branded retail outlet supporting both Your Local Air Ambulance and the National Children’s Air Ambulance.

Last year, it responded to a total of 548 incidents in Derbyshire, delivering advanced care at the scene and getting patients the best possible chance of survival.

The new Ilkeston store will play an important role in supporting these fundraising efforts while strengthening the charity’s presence and community engagement within the town centre.

Cameron Godfrey, surveyor at BB&J, said: “I was really pleased to get this one over the line.

“The property’s prominence in Bath Street, combined with its flexibility and quality of refurbishment, made it a great fit for The Air Ambulance Service.

“It’s especially rewarding to complete a deal that not only delivers for our client but also supports a charity that provides such critical, lifesaving services.”
