Long-term letting secured at historic mills site

Chevin Group has announced the long-term letting of space at a historic mills site to an independent coffee shop and bookstore.

The Chapter House (Milford) Ltd has signed a lease for the ground floor of the Dye House, at Milford Mills – a new development by Wavensmere Homes providing 69 premium homes.

The Dye House, along with the Milford Mills site, had previously stood empty for around 25 years.

As part of the regeneration scheme, extensive renovation works have been undertaken to this historic building, bringing it back into a habitable state and preserving it for generations to come.

Dan Stack, of Chevin Group, said: “We are delighted to see the Dye House now back in use and secured such a high-quality tenant.

“The Chapter House on the ground floor will work beautifully alongside Bloom Reformer Studio upstairs to create a real community hub in the heart of Milford and is another big step forward for the Milford Mills Regeneration Project.”

Helen Butcher, from The Chapter House (Milford) Ltd, said: “I am excited to be part of the regeneration project, and I look forward to opening The Chapter House this winter, bringing life back into the former Dye House.

“The Chapter House will be more than just a bookshop and cafe; it will also host creative workshops and events to help people find new hobbies and connections, in a place that brings people together.”

Chris Wright, of Omeeto, who handled the letting, said: “We are thrilled to have secured this letting to Helen Butcher.

“Her exciting plans for The Chapter House will greatly enhance the vibrancy and vitality of Milford village, providing a fantastic new destination for both new residents and the wider community.

“Omeeto also let the first floor last year to Bloom Reformer Studio Milford.

“The two uses will complement each other perfectly, enhancing the overall offer for residents and visitors.”
