Law firm Nelsons is celebrating a season of high-flying fundraising after staff across its offices took to the skies and the streets to support local causes.

Fundraising efforts reached new heights with members of the clinical negligence team taking part in a series of charity skydives at Langar airfield in April.

Legal director Carolle White and associate Shrdha Kapoor have so far raised £2,790 for baby loss charity Forever Stars.

Matthew Olner, a partner at Nelsons, has raised £1,018 for head injury charity, Headway Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland from his skydive.

Shrdha said: “It was an experience we’ll never forget. We are incredibly proud to support the work of our nominated charities and the generosity of those who donated and cheered us on the day has been overwhelming.”

Meanwhile, Nelsons’ Derby office has been focusing its efforts on raising cash for First Steps ED, a charity that provides care and support for those affected by eating disorders.

Among a variety of initiatives, in March, a team of runners completed the Derby 10k, raising £750.

A charity concert at Derby Cathedral on 19 June hosted by The Opera Babes, Karen England and Rebecca Knight, and a charity golf day in July are set to raise further funds.

Danielle Young, partner and solicitor in the clinical negligence team, said: “Working with our charities for a longer period of time has allowed us to create a sustained calendar of initiatives.

“It’s been great to see so much activity over the past few months, and we are keen to continue providing the ongoing support these charities need to plan for the future.”
