Community event to showcase school’s heritage
Over The Wall Camp is set to host a community event to showcase the charity’s work to restore and preserve a historic former school which is now its new base.
The event at the former Ockbrook School marks the culmination of the charity’s ‘Saving Ockbrook’s Heritage’ Project, backed by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

In 2024, Over The Wall Camp secured a 40-year lease of the former private school.
The charity is busy transforming the site, ready to welcome children with serious illnesses and disabilities, and their families, for free residential camps this summer.
Over The Wall Camp heritage officer, Gordon Collins, has been leading a team of dedicated heritage collections volunteers who have been recording the memories of former pupils and staff, as well as cataloguing and preserving school records and artefacts.
Visitors will be able to see these displays on Saturday 20 June, from 10am to 2pm, and hear about the current site developments.
