Smith Partnership has raised hundreds of pounds for a cancer charity after a staff-led fundraising campaign.

The law firm has raised £630 for Hope Against Cancer to support local cancer research and trials.

The total was generated through a programme of office initiatives organised by trainee solicitor Jade Evershed and paralegal Emma Symes-Goodman, who helped coordinate fundraising activities and opportunities for their lawyers to get involved throughout the year.

Across the campaign, the team ran a workplace tuck shop, hosted sweepstakes and staff quizzes, staged a bake sale, and volunteered at the Leicester Marathon to support Hope Against Cancer on the day.

Jade said: “Working with Hope Against Cancer has been a really positive way to get everyone involved, and it genuinely feels like teambuilding as well as fundraising.”

Emma added: “Sometimes charity fundraising can feel like people are under pressure to donate, but this never felt like that, it was a nice environment with lots of different ways to take part.”

Smith’s is now looking to continue its support for the charity in 2026, with repeat events including another bake sale, sweepstakes and raffles, alongside new fundraising ideas such as a quiz night to bring colleagues together.
