Ward, Pick Everard and Rodgers Leask are among the latest Marketing Derby Bondholders to announce new appointments in recent weeks.

Metal recycling and waste management specialist Ward has appointed Denise Banks as head of sales (waste) to drive commercial growth across its industrial and commercial waste services operations.

Having worked in the waste industry for more than 35 years Denise has a wealth of expertise gathered from commercial roles within successful SME regional waste firms, as well as multi-national waste providers.

Key responsibilities will include strengthening and building a high-performing sales team, improving customer retention and supporting key account management to deliver long-term value for Ward’s business waste collection and compaction customers.

Operation director Donald Ward said: “We’re excited to welcome Denise to the Ward team.

“She has an impressive track record of delivering results in waste sales, coupled with a customer first approach that fits perfectly with our ethos.

“We’re looking forward to how we can work together to further enhance and expand our industrial and commercial waste business at a regional level.”

An environmental specialist has joined multi-disciplinary consultancy Pick Everard as associate director as the company looks to develop its regenerative construction services.

Katie Partington, who joins as associate director in ecology and arboriculture, has more than 20 years of experience in overseeing sustainable development in the private and public sector.

She joins Pick Everard as the Planning and Infrastructure Act comes into force in England, introducing new environmental assessment procedures.

Emelye Kenyon, head of environmental services at the firm, said: “Katie’s appointment is an important step for our environmental services.

“She brings a huge amount of experience across ecology, arboriculture and major infrastructure projects, and she understands how to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.

“At a time when biodiversity, climate resilience and environmental compliance are becoming central to our clients’ needs, Katie’s practical and collaborative approach will be a real asset to both our projects and our people.”

Engineering consultancy Rodgers Leask has bolstered its regional team with the appointment of David Spurrell, who has joined as an associate, bringing more than 30 years of experience in structural engineering.

Meanwhile, Aaron Hand has joined the company, bringing his expertise to the transport planning team.

Principal structural engineer Majid Ahmed was also recently recruited to the  firm’s Nottingham team, moving across from Rodgers Leask’s Derby office to become the structures lead with the aim of achieving further growth in the department.

Peter Sparham, regional director at Rodgers Leask, said: “This recent expansion strengthens our presence and reinforces our position as a leading force in the East Midlands engineering sector.

“Our multi-disciplinary approach combined with a deep understanding of the local landscape enables us to tackle the region’s most complex engineering challenges.”
