East Midlands Railway has once again been recognised for its strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The train operator, part of Transport UK, has achieved the Inclusive Employers Gold Standard accreditation for a second time.

It is given to organisations that can show clear evidence that their policies, practices and culture consistently reinforce their inclusion strategy.

The accreditation report highlighted EMR’s genuine commitment to listening, learning and adapting to the needs of different groups and communities within the organisation.

It also noted that inclusion at EMR is not treated merely as a policy initiative but is woven into the way the company engages with its people.

Kate Holden, HR director at EMR, said: “We are proud to again achieve this important accreditation and show that diversity and inclusion are at the very heart of our values at EMR.

“This accreditation reaffirms our work and shows that policies are being acted upon rather than just sitting on a shelf. The fact that EMR adapts to the needs of its diverse workforce helps it to achieve and drives the business forward.”
