Rothera Bray, Dains and Lovell are among the latest Marketing Derby Bondholders to announce new appointments.

Law firm Rothera Bray has named Ruth Ball as managing associate and head of insolvency in its expanding insolvency and restructuring team.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Ruth is recognised by Legal 500 as a Next Generation Partner and is known for her practical, client-focused approach to complex insolvency matters.

She will work closely with insolvency and restructuring consultant Nicky Calthrop-Owen, further strengthening the firm’s expertise in this area.

Ruth said: “I’m passionate about helping clients find clarity and solutions during what can be a stressful time.

Meanwhile, accountancy and advisory firm Dains has bolstered its national advisory capability with the appointment of Sarah Pemberton as employment taxes director.

Sarah is a qualified tax professional with more than 18 years of experience.

She has worked with a diverse client base including Premier League football clubs, Formula 1 teams, and large privately-owned Midland’s businesses.

In her new role, she will support employment tax partner James Shepherd in leading Dains’ national employment taxes offering, supporting clients with both domestic and cross-border challenges.

James said: “Sarah’s appointment reflects Dains’ continued focus on expanding our specialist expertise across the UK.

“Her experience will be instrumental as we continue to support our broad client base – from mid-market firms to large, complex organisations – with tailored employment tax advice.”

Dains has also promoted Sophie Rogers, Katy Murrall and James Pridmore to corporate finance assistant managers, following a period of strong deal activity and national recognition for the firm’s corporate finance team.

Finally, housebuilder Lovell has bolstered its East Midlands operations with the appointment of a regional sales director.

Dawn Bennett brings more than 20 years of experience in new home sales, having most recently acted as sales and marketing director at Avant Homes.

Her new role will focus on spearheading Lovell’s sales strategy in the region.
