Events and entertainment venue launches mural competition

Vaillant Live is calling artists and designers to enter a competition to design a new mural for the building.

Derby’s new home of live events and entertainment wants artists from across the city to showcase their creative talent by producing an original piece of art based around the theme of performance and community spirit.

The winning design will be installed on two panels sized roughly 12500mm (w) x 6000mm (h) and 6950mm (w) x 6000mm (h) and will be displayed on the rear of the building in Becket Street.

People have until 16 November to submit their entry, which should be big, bold, colourful and reflect Derby’s vibrant and exciting community.

Marcus Sheehan, general manager at Vaillant Live, said: “We’re thrilled to be running this competition.

“Vaillant Live was built for the people of Derby, so to have a mural created by a local artist up on the walls of the venue just feels perfect. We can’t wait to see the designs.”
