Live professional boxing set to return to Derby

Live professional boxing is set to return to Derby when Vaillant Live hosts a British Heavyweight title fight.
The bout, which will take place on Saturday 25 October, will feature Burton’s Frazer Clarke, who will take on Jeamie TKV for the title.
The winner will follow in the footsteps of heavyweight greats such as Henry Cooper, Lennox Lewis, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua by claiming the prestigious Lonsdale Belt.
The heavyweight rivals will go head-to-head in a primetime slot on BBC Two, with the undercard action streaming live on BBC iPlayer.
Vaillant Live’s General Manager, Marcus Sheehan: “Derby has a huge appetite for boxing, and with having local lad Frazer Clarke being in the main event, it’s got all the makings of being a brilliant night of boxing.”
BOXXER founder and chief executive, Ben Shalom, said: “The British public love nothing more than a big heavyweight tear-up, and this fight is set to deliver maximum entertainment value.”

Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist Clarke came agonisingly close to capturing the British crown in March 2024, battling to a thrilling draw with Fabio Wardley at The O2 in London, with the British, Commonwealth and WBO European titles all at stake.
Frazer said: “I’ve always dreamed of winning the British title. I’m so hungry for this fight, so eager to get in there and finally make it mine. The fact it’s happening live on primetime BBC makes it even better.
“Jeamie is a solid all-round fighter, but I know the level I’m at and the work I’ve been putting in at the gym. He won’t hear the final bell.”
Tottenham’s Tshikeva, known to fans as TKV, suffered disappointment earlier this year when his British title challenge against David Adeleye ended in controversy due to a contentious refereeing decision.
He said: “I’m excited to get the opportunity to showcase my skills in front of millions on primetime television.
“Me and Frazer have been going back and forth for years, and now’s the right time.
“We finally get to settle it for the British title, and to do it on a massive platform like the BBC makes it even bigger.
“Frazer’s a good fighter, and I expect the best version of him to turn up, but I’m bringing the heat and the fire.”
Tickets are now on sale for the event, starting from £40. For more information and to book, click here.
