Train operator recognised for supporting volunteers

East Midlands Railway has become the first train operator in England to achieve a standard for excellence in supporting volunteers.
The firm has recently achieved the prestigious national quality standard – Investing in Volunteers.

The standard aims to improve the quality of the volunteering experience for all volunteers and demonstrates that organisations value the enormous contribution they make.
It is delivered by the national volunteering infrastructure bodies in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Together, they enable organisations across the UK to achieve the award.
Kaye Robinson, community engagement manager at East Midlands Railway, said: “Our volunteers play a vital role in supporting passengers, local communities and our stations across our network.
“It’s fantastic to be leading the industry in obtaining this award. This recognition not only highlights the dedication and passion of our volunteers but also the importance we place on creating a welcoming and rewarding environment for them.”
