Schools benefit from training provider’s IT donation

Training provider EMA Training has donated tens of thousands of pounds worth of IT equipment to schools operated by Embark Federation.
The Derby-based firm has given the equipment, estimated to be worth more than £20,000, to a network of 23 schools across Derbyshire.
The IT hardware, which includes several server racks, servers and routers, had previously been used by learners at EMA Training as part of their apprenticeship to help them develop hands-on skills, which they could apply in the workplace.

EMA recently made the strategic decision to no longer deliver IT apprenticeships, as it turns its focus to specialities in accounting, marketing, payroll and data technology.
Wondering what to do with the thousands of pounds worth of equipment, still in excellent condition, Tracey Mosley, managing director of EMA Training, decided to donate the kit to support the local community.
It was collected by the team at L.E.A.D. IT Services, who then delivered and installed all of the equipment across the Embark schools.
Tracey said: “At EMA, we believe in the power of opportunity and the importance of supporting our communities.
“We’re proud to donate our IT equipment to Embark, an organisation doing incredible work to empower young people.
“It’s a pleasure to collaborate with like-minded partners and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this donation will bring to the schools within Embark.”
Matt Crawford, trust leader at Embark Federation, said, “We are so grateful at Embark for this very kind donation from Tracey and all at EMA, which our young people will benefit from.
“We love working with the Derby business community through Marketing Derby and working with excellent partners such as EMA.”
