Derby schemes shortlisted for regional property awards

A number of Derby projects have been shortlisted for awards recognising the best of the region’s property sector.
The finalists for the 12 categories, which make up the East Midlands Property Dinner awards, organised by Insider, have been announced.
A Derby scheme that has secured several nominations this year is Vaillant Live, Derby’s brand-new £45.8 million performance venue, which was delivered by a team consisting of St James Securities, Bowmer + Kirkland, Derby City Council and ASM Global.
It is up for Construction Project of the Year, the Design Excellence Award and the Sustainability Award.

It is also shortlisted for Regeneration and Restoration Project of the Year, alongside Wavensmere Homes’ Nightingale Quarter scheme in Derby.
Three deals involving Derby are also shortlisted in the Deal of the Year category.
They are: Wavensmere’s sale of 131 single-family homes at Derby’s Friar Gate Goods Yard to global investors Kennedy Wilson and CPP Investments, Lovell’s £22 million deal with Placefirst to progress phase four of Castleward and the forward funding of £45.8 million for Vaillant Live.
In terms of individual categories, St James Securities and Clowes Developments, both of which are heavily involved in Derby’s property scene, are shortlisted for Developer of the Year.
Meanwhile, Wavnesmere Homes, which is behind three major Derby city centre projects, is shortlisted for Residential Property Developer of the Year.

To mark 25 years of the EMPD awards, a new category has been added – the Future Ambition Award.
This award gives the property sector a chance to have its say on what kind of major development it wants to see in the region.
The judges have selected six projects for the shortlist, with the winner to be voted for by the audience on the night.
Among those six projects is Infinity Park Derby.
Insider deputy editor Ian Griffin said: “Once again we have a strong range of entries from across the East Midlands.
“As they have for the past 25 years, these awards will recognise high-quality schemes and the top-class developers, advisers and architects behind them.”
The winners will be announced at ceremony in Nottingham on 11 September, where Marketing Derby will be sponsoring the drinks reception.
