Tapas bar and restaurant savours sweet taste of success

Staff at tapas bar and restaurant Compamigos are celebrating a double awards success.

The venue at Mercia Marina, near Willington, recently won the Muddy Stilettos Award – Best Casual Dining Spot in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire and the Prestige Business Award – Best Tapas Bar in Central England.

The Muddy Stilettos Awards are a prestigious, reader-voted celebration of the very best independent businesses across the UK. Over 515,000 votes were cast across the country this year.

In statement, Compamigos said: “We’re thrilled that Compamigos has been named Best Casual Dining in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025!

“This is a significant recognition – and one that means the world to us, particularly as we were up against some popular, well established city centre venues.”

Compamigos is an independent business, which opened at Mercia Marina in November last year.

Named after the Spanish ‘compartir con amigos’ or share with friends, it was created in the former Boardwalk Bar & Restaurant

It serves a wide variety of tapas dishes especially created for sharing.

The business said: “As a new independent business that only opened in November 2024, these awards represent a huge milestone.
