Team Derby will be pitching a powerful investment message to delegates at a major real estate event, which starts today.

A strong public/private sector representation has travelled to Leeds for the UK Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), which is expected to attract more than 14,000 people over the next three days.

Accompanied by members of Derby City Council’s leadership and supported by a number of its Bondholders, the city’s inward investment team at Marketing Derby are there to highlight investment opportunities and pipeline projects, building upon the high levels of investor interest created at MIPIM in Cannes in March.

Derby’s representatives will join a wider regional delegation supporting the East Midlands Combined County Authority’s unveiling of its new vision and first UKREiiF pavilion.

UKREiiF aims to connect people, places and businesses to drive sustainable, inclusive and transformative investment and regeneration.

It brings together the public sector – with every core UK city and region involved – alongside government, investors, funders, developers, housebuilders and more.

Throughout this week, Team Derby will be hosting panels, roundtable discussions and one-to-one meetings.

A focus of the city’s pitch is how Derby’s dominance in the UK’s nuclear sector is enhancing the city’s overall investment prospects.

This year, Derby’s programme of activities at UKREiiF is being kindly backed by AtkinsRéalis.

The globally renowned engineering and development consultancy has been appointed by Rolls-Royce, along with Mott MacDonald, as its fissile design partners for the expansion of the firm’s site in Derby, after the engineering giant landed the £9 billion Unity and £1 billion AUKUS contracts from the Ministry of Defence to supply technology for nuclear submarines.

Head of Regeneration at AtkinsRéalis Emma Davies said: “We’re proud to be partnering with Marketing Derby at UKREiiF 2025. AtkinsRéalis has a long-standing association with Derby having been based there for over thirty years. As Bondholders of Marketing Derby we are excited to support their activities at UKREiiF to highlight the transformative projects that are helping to regenerate the city and wider region. As an enabler delivering property and infrastructure solutions, we see huge potential in Derby and the surrounding communities and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Marketing Derby in creating innovative solutions that will strengthen Derby’s position as a leading investment destination.”

Representatives from both Rolls-Royce and AtkinsRéalis will be part of a Derby panel taking place at UKREiiF today, where they will discuss the impact of this investment in the city.

They will be joined by East Midlands Mayor Claire Ward, the figurehead of the East Midlands Combined County Authority, Councillor Nadine Peatfield, leader of Derby City Council and EMCCA’s deputy mayor, and Rob Richardson, development director at Indurent – a company which has seen the benefits of Rolls-Royce’s expansion at its site, Indurent Park Derby

Team Derby will also be unveiling a new prospectus showcasing office opportunities within Derby city centre.

The City Centre Office Prospectus first broke cover to an international audience at MIPIM earlier this year.

The prospectus sets out all the existing and planned office developments in the city centre in a bid to attract businesses back to the heart of Derby.

John Forkin, managing director at Marketing Derby, said: “Team Derby has arrived in Leeds with what we believe is an incredibly powerful investment pitch – supported by a very strong public/private sector delegation.

“We have a packed schedule of meetings with investors and developers keen to understand more about Derby’s momentum and the tangible opportunities, which are transforming our place and delivering our inclusive growth ambitions.”
