Deadline looms to enter creative and digital awards

Time is running out for creative and digital firms to enter this year’s Mainframe Awards, which are organised by Mainframe from QUAD.

Created to highlight the digital and creative community in Derby and Derbyshire, the Mainframe Awards will be celebrating their fifth year in April.

Event organisers are encouraging any creative people or businesses across the county to take part, with Monday 31 January the deadline for entries

People can nominate themselves, their colleagues or friend and their communities.

Mainframe have tried to make the awards as accessible as possible with 10 categories to choose from, allowing anyone from the broad spectrum of creative industries to take part.

They are: Make and Trade, Putting Derby and Derbyshire on the Map, Best Digital/Creative Upscaler, Emerging Digital Creative Star (under 25), Creativity for Good, Best Digital/Creative Start Up, Digital Disruptor, Mainframe Unsung Hero, Best Local Network and Digital/Creative Ambassador of the Year.

Businesses and individuals can enter up to two categories. The awards are judged by experts in their own chosen field.

This year, the judging panel includes a number of Bondholders including Paul Simpson, chief executive of Derby City Council, who will judge the Putting Derby and Derby on the Map category, Phil Basi, programme leader for media production and principal lecturer in TV production at the University of Derby, who will select the Emerging Digital/Creative Star, Bloc Digital directors Chris Hotham and Keith Cox, who will judge the Digital Disruptor category and Daniel Poole, head of development at Derby Theatre, who will select the Mainframe Unsung Hero.
