Deals involving industrial units dominate commercial property activity in Derby over recent weeks.

Salloway Property Consultants has secured a hat-trick of deals and at business parks across the city.

It has helped a long-standing vehicle accident repair business client Morley Accident Repair continue its expansion.

Hugo Beresford, associate director at Salloway, who has acted for Morley for a number of years, has recently helped the firm acquire a third unit at West Meadows Industrial Estate.

Morley Accident Repair trades as Fix Auto Derby (part of the Fix Auto UK network) and is a third-generation family business started by Deryck K. Morley in 1951.

Hugo said “I am delighted to have once again advised Morley Accident Repair in expanding their operational capacity.

“The company’s ongoing investment in high-quality premises demonstrates both confidence in the local market and a commitment to delivering exceptional service standards within their sector.”

The landlord involved in the most recent transaction was represented by Corbin Archer, from FHP Property Consultants.

Meanwhile, Salloway Property Consultants has completed the sale of a 45,612 sq ft unit at Trafalgar Park to Michael Pepper Joinery.

According to the firm, the unit attracted considerable interest thanks to its substantial and flexible manufacturing and warehousing capacity.

William Speed, from Salloway Property Consultants, who brokered the deal, said: “We’re delighted to have facilitated this sale to Michael Pepper Joinery, an innovative and highly respected business within the Midlands manufacturing sector.

“1A – 1D Trafalgar Park offered an ideal opportunity for Michael Pepper Joinery to expand its operational footprint, and we’re proud to have played a part in enabling this.

“We will also be bringing Unit 1A and Unit 1B Trafalgar Park to the market on a leasehold basis shortly which I am sure will prove popular.”

Finally, Salloway has successfully let Unit 11, at Merlin Park, to electrical contractors MPS Group.

Forming part of Ivygrove Developments’ highly successful Merlin Park, Unit 11 extends to 2,713 sq.

It was completed to a shell specification, with the tenant undertaking their own fit-out works to create a modern operational base to support the continued growth of their business.

Chris Keogh, director at Salloway, said: “This estate is now nearing full occupation and has once again proven to be highly popular with tenants, owner-occupiers, and investors alike who are seeking good quality industrial units.

“The tried and tested model that Ivygrove have in delivering new-build industrial units ranging from 1,500 sq to 10,000 sq shows no signs of slowing down, with the former Albert Looms site being the next key scheme on the horizon.”

Marc Sargeant, director at MPS Group, said: “We are delighted to secure new premises at Merlin Park, which provide the ideal base for our expanding operations.

“The quality and location of the development make it a perfect fit for our business as we continue to grow and serve clients across the region.”
