Following a series of setbacks at Revolver Revolver, owner Chris Redshaw made the unenviable decision of having to close the business earlier this month. Bondholder Purpose Media's managing director Matt Wheatcroft however saw this as an opportunity to expand.

Founded in 2008, Revolver Revolver operated from Friar Gate Studios in Derby and went on to become an award-winning design agency offering a range of integrated creative services including graphic design, web design, branding and advertising. However, a number of knock backs across the last year forced the company to close.

Following discussions with the administrator, Bondholder Bates Weston, Purpose Media decided to acquire major assets of the business including the trading name, domain name and two of its leading employees – Claudio Davanzo and Danny Painter.

— Matt Wheatcroft, Managing Director at Purpose Media

This acquisition is part of a greater intention to win more creative design and branding projects to develop a sub-division of the company called Purpose Creative. This is expected to create further employment opportunities and is part of a carefully planned programme of expansion which will see Purpose Media achieve £5 million turnover within the next five years.

With over 15 years' experience in the creative industry, Claudio has worked on top brands including St. Tropez, Thorntons, Loughborough University, Formula One, Esker, University of Derby and Derby County Football Club.
