Cyber software launched

A reformed criminal mastermind once dubbed ‘Britain’s Greatest Fraudster’ has teamed up with Bondholder RDS Global to launch its new cyber protection software.

Former hacker Tony Sales has warned Derbyshire businesses that the biggest threat to online security is ourselves. Tony, who after a stretch in prison is now on the right side of the law, helps police and organisations around the world to protect themselves against cyber crime.

An event was held last week at fellow Bondholder Derby QUAD with an audience of 120 Derbyshire-based business people, to launch RDS Global’s RDS Black Box™ technology - new software which cost £1m to develop and connects and integrates data to deliver a real-time dashboard.

The front man of We Fight Fraud, a collaboration between leading fraud and financial crime prevention specialists from diverse backgrounds said: “I go all over the world showing people how easy it is to be scammed - opportunities allow criminals to do their stuff.”

He added: “Loss information is flawed and no one wants to share this information - this has to change. 99.9 percent of websites are now hacked and people don’t understand this. 1.3 billion people had their information stolen in 2016. I want people to understand how important data is, and we are the weakest link.”

Speaking of the RDS Global launch party, he said: “The event was great. The RDS Global’s Black Box laser experience is the best thing I’ve seen at a business event and I’m looking forward to trying the technology.”

RDS’s patent pending solution is capable of connecting different systems and controllers, and porting multiple data feeds into one place. This can be hosted on site or in the cloud, from where detailed reports are generated live through personalised dashboards.

RDS’s chief executive officer Andrew Flinn said: “At RDS Global, we are passionate about technology and want businesses to embrace the ever-evolving industry as well as use it to their advantage. We are excited to officially launch the RDS Black Box as it will drive positive change and efficiency in business.”

RDS Global wins partner award

Bondholder RDS Global has been named New Partner of the Year at the prestigious WatchGuard Partner Awards.

WatchGuard is a highly respected global leader in relation to network security, with its network intelligence and security products and services trusted by over 75,000 customers worldwide.

As a valued WatchGuard partner, RDS Global was recognised at the annual WatchGuard Partner Conference, which this year took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia, beating off competition from across Europe. It scooped the New Partner of the Year prize due to the Derby-based company’s success in implementing WatchGuard’s products and solutions despite being a partner for just over a year.

The award is a feather in the cap for RDS Global, which, having been established in 1997, now supports 4,000 IT users across 200 locations in the UK.

Phil Harvey, Managing Director at RDS Global, said: “We are absolutely delighted to walk away with the New Partner of the Year award from the WatchGuard Partner Conference 2019."

“It’s a great achievement for the RDS team and we will ensure that we continue to add value, peace of mind and advanced insight into the network infrastructure of businesses.”

Personal loss drive RDS Global to support charity

Bondholder RDS Global, a provider of IT solutions to organisations of all sizes and sectors nationwide, have thrown their support around national charity CALM.

It comes following the death of Managing Director Phil Harvey’s son Matthew, who committed suicide last year.

In 2015, 75% of all UK suicides were male. More specifically, the number of suicides among male armed forces, of which Matthew was a member, was 292 between 1998 and 2017.

CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably) are dedicated to helping prevent male suicide - especially among those under 25 – and also work to break down the stigma associated with mental health.

Phil said: “The loss of Matthew has affected me and my family greatly and while we can’t bring him back, we can cherish his memory while helping raise awareness of the devastating impact mental health can have, especially on young people.

“The team at RDS Global have been incredibly supportive and – inspired by my daughter Natalie who recently raised over £1,000 by taking part in a skydive – we look forward to raising money and awareness for the fantastic job CALM does in the months and years to come.”

As well as Natalie’s skydive, RDS Global recently hosted a Charity Auction Night at the White Swan in Littleover raising a further £2400 for CALM, with more events in the pipeline.

Two Decades of RDS

Bondholder RDS Global is celebrating its 20th anniversary, providing IT support across the UK for two decades.

Established in 1997, RDS Global originated from the IT department of a local automotive dealer group. It was during these early years that RDS Global focussed on providing tailored network services.

Today the firm supports more than 4,000 users in 200 locations across the UK.

Phil Harvey, Managing Director, said: “RDS Global is proud to have earned a reputation for delivering very high standards of service, expertise and professionalism. Our commitment for ensuring complete customer satisfaction is never compromised – which is why we’re still here, twenty years later.

“Throughout the past twenty years our mission has always remained clear and consistent: to support business growth and address the changing needs of our valued customers as they arise.

“In order to meet those changing needs, we’ve also continued to change. We strive for continuous improvement in everything we do, and we invest a great deal developing not just our resources and our capabilities, but our team also.”

Bondholders' Dynamic Collaboration

Bondholder RDS Global has teamed up with fellow Bondholder Koobr to enhance its digital presence with a brand new website.

Sean Price, Director at RDS, said: "Having known Craig and the Koobr team for several years, I knew where I had to take this project, moving the RDS web site from its previous form into this new dynamic and more content-driven website.

"The site has already seen an increase in not only traffic but also conversions for new business, as well as enabling our customers to get in touch with our incredible IT support help desk even quicker."

Craig Barker, Director at Koobr, added: “We know RDS Global has the highest standards of quality, so we’re very pleased they chose to work with Koobr for our expertise and fresh perspective.

"We work hard to get under the skin of an organisation and truly understand their objectives. We pride ourselves on working with customers for the long-term and look forward to collaborating on other projects with RDS.”

Moving forward the two Bondholder businesses aim to work together on a regular basis.

Bondholders set to Fundraise at Ramathon

A number of Bondholders are set to compete in this year's Ramathon, organised by Bondholder RunDerby, to help fundraise for fellow Bondholder Safe and Sound.

Bondholders in the Safe and Sound team include Nathalie Walters, Chief Executive of Safe and Sound; Anthony Lomas, Partner at BB&J; Claire Tonks, Partner at Flint Bishop LLP; and Sean Price, Director at RDS Global.

When asked why she was fundraising for Safe and Sound, Claire Tonks said: “I have decided to run my first half marathon, (much to the surprise of my three boys – “you’re quite old mum to run that far.”) to help raise funds and awareness for Safe & Sound.

"Having a teenager myself and working with schools and colleges, it is impossible not to be aware of the dangers to our children in the digital world. Safe and Sound is a fantastic, local charity providing specialist support to children and young people affected by sexual exploitation.

The race is also sponsored by fellow Bondholder Dains

Purely RDS

Bondholders Purely Digital and RDS Global have worked together on a project to raise awareness around IT and Cyber Security.

Purely Digital were commissioned by RDS to create posters for display at a recent motor industry exhibition. The print warned attendees of the perils of cyber security, and advertised the fact that 96% of small businesses have been hacked in the last 12 months.

The posters were utilised in guerilla marketing techniques, placed on walls, toilet stalls, the back of other people’s stands and on many obscure objects, and proved a success.

RDS Global has generated a substantial amount of revenue off the back of Purely Digitals static backed printed HACKED posters.

Growth for RDS

Bondholder RDS Global is set to create 10 new jobs, as part of its plans for expansion.

The IT firm has also doubled the number of cyber security audits it performs in the last few months, an area in which the firm specialise.

Sean Price, director at RDS Global, said: “RDS Global are helping small businesses around the UK get cyber ready ahead of the new data protection laws which come into place in 2018.

“As part of the cyber audit process, RDS Global reviews not only hardware, software and network topologies but also the HR and legal policies in place within an organisation that support data protection and handling.

“Having provided cyber audits for small businesses, car dealerships, hotels and nursing homes – RDS Global continues to drive innovation forward in this sector and continues to grow the cyber security awareness around the UK.”

RDS' Record Month

Bondholder RDS Global, a leading IT support provider for SMEs, is celebrating doubling the number of cyber security audits performed by the company.

The company is also the only IT support provider in the East Midlands who are IASME accredited to not only provide Cyber Essentials audits, but also assess and deliver the entire process from start to finish with an in house team of experts.

RDS Global already have big plans in place for 2017, and is helping small businesses around the UK get cyber ready ahead of the new data protection laws which come into place in 2018.

As part of the cyber audit process, RDS Global will review not only hardware, software and network topologies but also the HR and legal policies in place within an organisation that support data protection and handling.

RDS brings superfast broadband to Friar Gate

RDS Global team in St James Square, Derby

Established leader in IT services and Bondholder, RDS Global,  has laid leased-line technology which gives businesses on Derby's Friar Gate access to superfast broadband for the first time.

The upgrade is a significant improvement and speeds will be at least five times faster. Robert Kay, the group’s technical director, stated that the faster speeds would carry the additional benefit of allowing for internet telephony and IP CCTV. “Due to the fast moving pace of the industry, companies are now benefiting from more reliable, flexible and cost effective methods of telephony, whilst we have seen a sharp rise in IP CCTV, which allows managers to view and review camera footage from the comfort of their PC, tablet or smart phone. The faster internet speeds perfectly compliment this new approach towards complete IT convergence.”

RDS Global covers the full spectrum of IT services and solutions and prides itself on helping companies understand their IT requirements, delivering the right products and services and removing the complexities and issues that frustrate.
