Staycation, anyone?

Staycations are becoming increasingly popular among Brits. With no worries over exchange rates and passport control, travellers are increasingly choosing to explore the UK.

When looking into staycation trends from last year, there are 4 key areas of growth:

1) Active holidays – all age groups are looking for hiking, climbing and water sports during their time away. The Peak District is a hot spot for outdoor activities, with the Derbyshire countryside offering plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling holidays.
2) Pet-friendly – it’s no surprise that people are choosing to take their pooches along with them on holidays within the same country. Dog-friendly holiday cottages are a must for the staycation trend.
3) Hot tubs – more suitable for the British weather than swimming pools, hot tubs are another popular feature amongst all types of groups, from romantic getaways to hen parties.
4) Large groups – since 2014, reservations of holiday homes with 11+ bedrooms have almost trebled. Clearly another benefit of not flying abroad is the ability to invite a bigger group of friends and family.

Ashbourne Self-Catering, the holiday-let arm of Bondholder PMW Property has tailored its Derbyshire properties to fit each of the above priority points for travellers. The team specialise in group accommodation, offering holiday cottages, corporate retreats and wedding venues. From dog-friendly cottages with hot tubs to 16-bedroom venues with meeting rooms, for a staycation or team building day in Derbyshire, look no further than Ashbourne Self-Catering.

Invictus Communications secures Bondholders

Five Bondholder companies have joined the growing number of local companies who benefit from increased cost savings and better efficiency and security thanks to telecommunications systems through fellow Bondholder Invictus Communications.

Invictus Communications have been appointed by HUUB, Salloway Property Consultants, PMW Property, Morecrofts and Century Mobile to install new telephony systems and join 15 other Bondholder companies who are part of the Invictus client portfolio.

Invictus Communications Jonny McPhee said: “Building relationships with other Derby companies through the Bondholder network has been crucial in our rapid growth since 2016 and growing reputation as the go-to telecommunications company in the city and county.

“These further contract gains with fellow Bondholders is testament to the fact that the Derby business community is committed to supporting each other.

We all recognise that dealing with other local businesses results in high quality customer service and benefits the local economy.”

Bondholder PMW Property added: “We were receiving an extremely poor telephony service from another supplier. After speaking with fellow Marketing Derby Bondholders, Invictus Communications appeared to be the highest recommended company. We have been working with them for around a month and have been extremely impressed with the professional and reliable service provided."

PMW complete sale of city apartments

Bondholder PMW Property have successfully completed the sale of two desirable apartment blocks in Derby, St George Court and Bradley Court.

The sale of St George Court and Bradley Court, to an unnamed purchaser in a deal worth £3 million, comes as Ashbourne-based PMW re-evaluate their portfolio, concentrating their interests in the commercial property market.

Built in 2008, St George Court comprises of 14 stylish city centre apartments on George Street and was tastefully designed to complement its surroundings in the city centre conservation area, close to the historic Friar Gate.

The area has proven very attractive to young professionals with a range of top class restaurants, brasseries and wine bars all within a short walk. The development is ideally placed for quick access to the major road network via the A38 and in easy reach of East Midlands Airport.

Bradley Court, on Cameron Road one and a half miles to the south of Derby city centre, is a stylish and attractive development of 17 one-bedroom apartments, let on Assured Shorthold Tenancies (ASTs). It was built by PMW in 2004 and is ideally placed with good access to many of Derby’s leading employers including Rolls-Royce and Bombardier.

This residential development has been highly sought after and generated regular calls from potential tenants enquiring about availability of the apartments. “We have received a lot of calls,” says PMW Property Manager, Rachel Walton. “Tenants do come and go, but there is always someone waiting for an apartment to become vacant. We don’t have to advertise the property and we have never had an apartment standing empty. It has been a great success.”
