Bondholder David Brown Commercial has re-let a former award-winning city restaurant premises on Friar Gate.
121 Friar Gate is owned by fellow Bondholder Morgan Industrial Properties and has now been let to ‘The Dining Room’ - a new and exciting independent restaurant. Head chef Simon Bates has 19 years’ experience as a chef and, together with his wife Claire, has put together a menu comprising classically contemporary dishes, focusing on the best of local and regional British produce.
David Brown, director of David Brown Commercial commented: “We are delighted to complete this letting to Simon and wish him and Claire every success. Friar Gate is the established leisure circuit in Derby city centre and is where national and independent bars and restaurants cluster. The area is characterised by a number of fine period buildings which provide characterful space for food and beverage users."
Simon Bates, of The Dining Room commented: “We were eager to find an opportunity to secure premises in the city’s entertainment district that are perfect for the delivery of our vision and 121 Friar Gate is ideal. We offer a warm welcome to all customers – familiar and new – to come and experience The Dining Room."
The property was formerly home to Terroir Bistro, voted Derby Restaurant of the year in 2018 in the Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards.
