Victory for MSG Tours

Bondholder MSG Tours has been awarded the Shining Star Award at a prestigious ceremony recognising outstanding innovation across the tourism industry.

Held in London, the Vamoos Awards is a nationwide celebration of the innovative ways new technologies are being used by travel operators, including MSG, to successfully service their customers and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Katie Peggs was in attendance to accept the award alongside fellow Tour Operator Laura Dennehy. Commenting on what it meant to the entire team, Katie said: “Winning the Shining Star Award is a great achievement.

“The team routinely goes above and beyond in terms of what we offer our clients, setting a gold standard for the industry as a whole. We already pride ourselves on being one of the country’s leading specialists in educational, ski and sports travel, but it means a great deal to be recognised for our technical innovations.

“We’ve worked hard to push new initiatives that significantly enhance the experiences of our customers, experimenting with the latest digital technologies and fine tuning ways to deliver a reliable, quality service that does not compromise personalisation. It’s something every modern business aims for, not just in the travel industry. This accolade is evidence that we have achieved those goals.”

MSG Expands

Bondholder MSG Tours has recruited two new team members, as part of its plans for expansion.

Grace Mumford and Lucy Hey join the specialist travel operator — who are experts in delivering bespoke educational, ski and sports trips — as part of the company’s continued growth and expansion into new markets.

MSG’s Founder, Mark Gardner, said: “I am delighted to welcome such skilled and talented individuals as Grace and Lucy.

“It’s been a very significant year for MSG, most notably establishing a new base of operations in Europe. Having the core staff to support that kind of rapid growth, here and internationally, is incredibly important.

“Fortunately, we’re uniquely positioned within an industry that attracts the right kind of passion and talent. We’ve been lucky enough to establish a very strong team across all areas of the business, including a few professional star-signings of our own to co-ordinate sports tours and training camps overseas.”

Speaking about joining the team at their offices in Marble Hall, Derby, Lucy says she’s thrilled to be working with MSG. “Being part of such a creative, dynamic group of people is really inspiring. I’m looking forward to helping the company continue to grow and I’m excited to see where the next few years will take us — I’ve always fancied visiting Japan, myself.”

Bondholders Collaborate

Bondholder MSG Tours has teamed up with fellow Bondholder Koobr to enhance its brand communications and marketing activities.

Mark Gardner, Founder of MSG Tours, said: “As a rapidly growing company, MSG required a skilled set of hands to assist with our migration to new markets, maintaining our on-brand communications across various channels. Without an internal resource, we reached out to Koobr to provide a rounded marketing solution.

“Already, our social channels are gaining extra traction, positivity, and engagement, whilst our poorly-performing website is now our strongest lead-generation tool. The graphic design support from Koobr means we are now able to enhance our marketing activities even further with the creation of a new brochure that accurately reflects who we are, and enforces our company’s ethos of delivering the very best the sports and education travel industry has to offer.

“Most important of all, our customers are noticing our facelift and continued interaction with them, which is the highest compliment we can pay to the decision to work with Koobr.”

Craig Barker, Director at Koobr, added: “Working closely with MSG, becoming an integrated part of their team, has certainly helped us to realise their marketing objectives to full effect. It’s also been a fantastic experience working with such a warm and friendly group of people who share our love of coffee!

“We pride ourselves on building strong, collaborative relationships with everybody we work with, becoming their dedicated marketing department. This, we believe, yields the best marketing results for all our clients.”

Band of Bondholders

Businesses in Derby have come together to help a local charity, including Bondholders MSG Tours, Koobr and HUUB.

Home Start Derby, situated at Marble Hall in Osmaston Road, service hundreds of local families who are struggling day to day. The charity relies on grants, donations and volunteers to operate and is set to close due to a lack of short-term financial support.

Rebecca Shaw, Marketing Manager at Koobr, said: “When we heard that Home Start was having a difficult period, we knew we had to use our expertise to help in any way we could. The charity do some fantastic work and it would be a shame if this could no longer continue.”

HUUB Founder and Owner, Dean Jackson, also praised the charity and has agreed to donate a signed item of their award-winning triathlon kit for auction to help raise funds.

The charity needs to raise £5,000 in August to continue operating, and a further £15,000 to bridge a few gaps in expected donor and grant income due in October.

A Crowdfunder page has been set up by the team to try and ensure their cause is still supported in the event of ultimate closure:

New Home for MSG

Bondholder MSG Tours has moved into Marble Hall, as part of their plans for expansion.

The former Rolls-Royce building is now part of Bondholder Connect Derby's portfolio of service offices, following a £4 million renovation.

MSG Tours is an educational travel brand who provide various sports and ski tours to unique destinations across the world. It’s safe to say MSG have been flying high and hitting new climates of their own as the move comes after just 12 months of trading to cope with their rapid expansion.

Mark Gardner, Director at MSG tours said: “We are proud to be following in the footsteps of Rolls Royce as we believe that there is a beautiful link between our company’s services and mantra: taking people around world and delivering the unexpected."

We selected Marble Hall due to its aesthetics, positioning, modern facilities and its link to the first ever Rolls Royce building here in Derbyshire. We are proud of the direction the company is taking and want to ensure that our brand values are mirrored in as many elements as possible, including our offices.”

And it doesn’t just stop there. MSG are embracing technology and are the first UK tour operator in their sector to team up with Vamoos- a travel app which will allow their customers to access their travel documents and information on a mobile device, even without having a data signal.

The app is also the perfect feature for parents staying behind thanks to the push notification function, which allows everyone with access to stay informed in real-time with alerts such as when a group have reached their destination safely or results from fixtures.
