Bondholders bringing back Cycle Derby Sportive

Bondholders Koobr and Purely Digital are joining forces, bringing back the recently cancelled September Cycle Derby Sportive.

The much-anticipated event, initially scheduled for Sunday 22nd of September, was unfortunately called-off by event organisers.

Now two determined Bondholders, Andrew Edmondson and Craig Barker — from Purely Digital and Koobr respectively — have teamed up after colleagues and friends within the business community expressed their disappointment that the event would no longer be taking place.

“A lot of local businesses and communities take part in the Derby Sportive every year,” explains Craig. “It’s something that people have been looking forward to for quite some time — ourselves included!

“It would be a massive shame not to go ahead just because the event is now officially closed. That’s why we’re letting people know that a few of us are still going ahead. We’d love for everybody who was planning on taking part to come and join us.”

The Derby Sportive has traditionally offered four distances covering North Derbyshire and the Peak District, each with varying levels of difficulty.

“We wanted to invite everybody, not just avid cyclists,” says Andrew. “That’s why we’ve chosen a route that’s not too challenging — a fun and comfortable 40km ride out towards Carsington Reservoir with plenty of gorgeous scenery. But there will definitely be a few hills along the way to get the blood pumping. It should be a great day!

“We’ve already had quite a few people get in touch when they heard we were doing it, and we look forward to seeing a few more on the day.”

The group will be setting off from Markeaton Park next Sunday at 10:00 am. If you would like to get involved, contact Craig or Andrew for more details.

Koobr continue to grow

Bondholder and creative agency Koobr is celebrating continued growth across its digital marketing, design, and web development teams following successful projects with large organisations to support their brand development.

The team at Koobr recently supported Aquabox, a Rotary International charity, which has helped more than 50 countries recovering from natural disasters, delivering more than 110,000 aid boxes to affected areas in need of safe drinking water across the world.

The creative team were able to collate the views of the passionate staff from Aquabox and use these valuable experiences to develop and improve the Aquabox brand, logo and literature material to appeal to a younger audience with great successes. The new promotional booklet was given a complete overhaul to get rid of the outdated postage form and introduce a modern QR barcode system to enable people to donate quickly and securely, while at the same time directing relevant traffic to Aquabox’s website.

Colin Lloyd of Aquabox said “The team at Koobr delivered an on time and creative solution. We have generated in excess of 200 leads, a super result for Aquabox.”

The creative marketing agency has also been steadily recruiting, taking on three new members of staff and has had its busiest quarter to date.

Lee Currie, Studio Manager, said: “Businesses work with Koobr because they want an holistic, effective marketing solutions that produces results. The added strategic, creative, and technical expertise we have in-house means we can provide clients with a complete package.

“We’re extremely pleased with the new Koobr members. They each bring a great set of skills to the business, which are already proving essential to the future of Koobr.”

Bondholders Collaborate

Bondholder MSG Tours has teamed up with fellow Bondholder Koobr to enhance its brand communications and marketing activities.

Mark Gardner, Founder of MSG Tours, said: “As a rapidly growing company, MSG required a skilled set of hands to assist with our migration to new markets, maintaining our on-brand communications across various channels. Without an internal resource, we reached out to Koobr to provide a rounded marketing solution.

“Already, our social channels are gaining extra traction, positivity, and engagement, whilst our poorly-performing website is now our strongest lead-generation tool. The graphic design support from Koobr means we are now able to enhance our marketing activities even further with the creation of a new brochure that accurately reflects who we are, and enforces our company’s ethos of delivering the very best the sports and education travel industry has to offer.

“Most important of all, our customers are noticing our facelift and continued interaction with them, which is the highest compliment we can pay to the decision to work with Koobr.”

Craig Barker, Director at Koobr, added: “Working closely with MSG, becoming an integrated part of their team, has certainly helped us to realise their marketing objectives to full effect. It’s also been a fantastic experience working with such a warm and friendly group of people who share our love of coffee!

“We pride ourselves on building strong, collaborative relationships with everybody we work with, becoming their dedicated marketing department. This, we believe, yields the best marketing results for all our clients.”

Koobr is Shaping Up

Bondholder Koobr has taken team building exercises to a new level — incorporating actual physical exercise.

The creative agency has taken part in weekly training sessions with the help of fitness and nutrition expert Michael Pearce, who has been working with the team of creatives and marketers to whip them into shape, whilst strengthening team bonds as a whole.

Craig Barker, Koobr's Managing Director, said: "“I’ve always made a point of looking after the wellbeing of my staff, and I believe its a responsibility all forward-thinking organisations should undertake. As well as reducing physical and mental illnesses like stress, anxiety and depression, corporate fitness also improves productivity and attentiveness. All in all, it’s important to any business.

“Since embarking on this journey, we’ve definitely grown tighter as a team. Whilst we’ll continue to train and eat properly for our own personal reasons, it’s pretty fair to say that we’ll continue training together and keep getting healthier as a group in order to support and motivate each other towards our collective goals and ambitions.”

Now Michael is working with fellow Bondholder Purely Digital, after being recommended by Craig and seeing the phenomenal transformation of his team.

Band of Bondholders

Businesses in Derby have come together to help a local charity, including Bondholders MSG Tours, Koobr and HUUB.

Home Start Derby, situated at Marble Hall in Osmaston Road, service hundreds of local families who are struggling day to day. The charity relies on grants, donations and volunteers to operate and is set to close due to a lack of short-term financial support.

Rebecca Shaw, Marketing Manager at Koobr, said: “When we heard that Home Start was having a difficult period, we knew we had to use our expertise to help in any way we could. The charity do some fantastic work and it would be a shame if this could no longer continue.”

HUUB Founder and Owner, Dean Jackson, also praised the charity and has agreed to donate a signed item of their award-winning triathlon kit for auction to help raise funds.

The charity needs to raise £5,000 in August to continue operating, and a further £15,000 to bridge a few gaps in expected donor and grant income due in October.

A Crowdfunder page has been set up by the team to try and ensure their cause is still supported in the event of ultimate closure: http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/big-hopes-big-futures

Bondholders' Dynamic Collaboration

Bondholder RDS Global has teamed up with fellow Bondholder Koobr to enhance its digital presence with a brand new website.

Sean Price, Director at RDS, said: "Having known Craig and the Koobr team for several years, I knew where I had to take this project, moving the RDS web site from its previous form into this new dynamic and more content-driven website.

"The site has already seen an increase in not only traffic but also conversions for new business, as well as enabling our customers to get in touch with our incredible IT support help desk even quicker."

Craig Barker, Director at Koobr, added: “We know RDS Global has the highest standards of quality, so we’re very pleased they chose to work with Koobr for our expertise and fresh perspective.

"We work hard to get under the skin of an organisation and truly understand their objectives. We pride ourselves on working with customers for the long-term and look forward to collaborating on other projects with RDS.”

Moving forward the two Bondholder businesses aim to work together on a regular basis.

After an extremely successful four years with continual growth, Bondholder Koobr has appointed a new Marketing Manager.

New hire at Marble Hall

Just a few months after Bondholder Koobr moved to Connect Derby's Marble Hall offices, a new digital marketing manager has joined the firm.

Jaide Spencer joins Koobr with seven years' of experience including securing events with Swarovski at her previous employer.

Commenting on the increased demand for digital marketing services, Managing Director of Koobr, Craig Barker, commented: "Digital marketing is now a significant part of what we do, as more businesses want to utilise the benefits of social media and content marketing to promote services and communicate with customers."

Koobr lays new roots in historic surroundings

Fast-growing Bondholder Koobr has moved to Marble Hall, the newly renovated and iconic former Rolls-Royce building owned and managed by Connect Derby.

Managing Director Craig Barker said: “We’ve enjoyed a wonderful time at our old studios but it feels like we’ve outgrown them now. After a successful few years since we first moved in, we want to continue pushing things to the next level. We’ve more than doubled in size, acquiring some very talented team members along the way; and that’s really enabled us to bolster and broaden our expertise as a brand communications company.”

Marble Hall boasts over 40 offices, super-fast broadband, car parking, and meeting facilities amongst other benefits. “Banks Mill was a perfect environment to help us get to the level we are at now” says Craig. “We’ve benefitted so much as a growing company with their support. Moving to a building with such a rich, respectable heritage and diverse business community as this, feels like a natural progression for Koobr.”

Koobr is actively recruiting to fill several roles over the next few months and is currently on the lookout for a talented business development manager.
