Enterprising Women of the Year

East Midlands Chamber toasted Derbyshire's Enterprising Women of the year, at a gala dinner last week.

The awards recognise the achievements of women in business and are co-Chaired by Jean Mountain, a Director and Immediate Past President of East Midlands Chamber.

A representative for the awards said: '“We were very impressed with the quality of the applications this year and level of support for women in business.”

Winners of the night included many Bondholders.

Megan Morris, from Bondholder Sky Recruitment Solutions, was awarded Apprentice of the Year, while the Geldards Family Team walked away with Team of the Year.

Zoe Dowthwaite from Bondholder Flint Bishop was highly commended as Female Employee of the year, as was Natalie Bamford of DerbyDaysOut.co.uk, as Enterprising New Business Woman of the Year.

The Perfect Circle Team at Bondholder Pick Everard were also highly commended as Team of the Year.

A Creative Collaboration

DerbyDaysOut.co.uk has called upon fellow Bondholder DE22 Creative to help in its rebrand.

Managing Director of DerbyDaysOut.co.uk explains how the company was ready for a new look: “Our website was launched in 2015 and has gone from strength to strength in so many ways including website visitor numbers and business partnerships created.

"I felt that 2017 was the perfect time for us to have our logo ‘freshened up’ and we knew that DE22 Creative would be the best people to contact.”

After DE22 Creative gave DerbyDaysOut two concepts to choose from, they decided to open it up to public voting. Natalie explains the reason behind this: “Our social media followers are very important to us as a business and we feel we have a strong connection with them, therefore we wanted them to have a say in the new logo."

The winning design, ‘The Heart of Derby’, uses abstract vector icons that represent different things that can be done in Derby whilst forming the shape of a hand already associated with the brand identity.

A Spokesperson for DE22 Creative said: "It was a privilege to work alongside DerbyDaysOut to produce their new logo. As a creative design agency in the heart of Derby we wanted to create a logo that represented the city in a fun, creative and engaging way.

"We were delighted with the feedback on both concepts and are equally happy with the design the public chose.”

DerbyDaysOut.co.uk works with intu Derby

After joining Marketing Derby Bondholders earlier this year, DerbyDaysOut.co.uk has announced it will once again be working with fellow Bondholder intu Derby to promote its free events lined up throughout every school holiday in 2016.

Family website DerbyDaysOut.co.uk has already promoted the huge range of activities that took place in the February half-term which were all Kung Fu Panda-themed to coincide with the release of the film. Activities included Chinese lantern making, food workshops with YO! Sushi and a martial arts lesson. All activities took place at intu Derby and were free of charge.

Natalie Bamford, Director of DerbyDaysOut.co.uk said: "The purpose of our website is to help families with children aged 6-16 years old find out what's on for them in Derby and Derbyshire. We want to be a one stop site so you don't have to look at several sites or publications to get a full picture of what's on. As a family we have attended many of intu Derby's free family events and thoroughly enjoyed them so we're happy that we can tell other families about them through our website!"
