The Derby Property Summit returns today in a new venue, the historic Roundhouse in Derby.
The Summit, now in its sixth year, is the largest commercial property event in the region, with over 350 senior-level delegates due to attend from across the UK. The agenda will bring together the individual strands of regeneration, property and development and is a must-attend for anybody looking to do business in Midlands property.

This year’s theme will be Cities in Competitive Collaboration and the Keynote Presentation will be from Andrew Carter, Chief Executive of Centre for Cities. Journalist and broadcaster, Declan Curry will once again be hosting the summit, and industry leaders from across the Midlands will take part in thought-provoking panel discussions throughout the morning.

Marketing Derby is delighted to announce legal firm Smith Partnership will be the event’s headline partner and will also be involved in running an interactive breakout session, with Three Hundred and Sixty Degrees. Faithful + Gould will be supporting the event for the first time and will provide their insight on the UK residential scheme. Derbyshire Economic Partnership and fDi Intelligence of the Financial Times complete the strong line-up of partners.

This will be the first year that the event has showcased a more interactive format, with a range of topical focus sessions for delegates to choose from, including:
•    Making the case: Build-to-Rent in the regions
•    Investing in Derbyshire
•    Say Hello to Proptech – How to use data to inform investment decision-making
•    Unlock the secret to Derby’s hidden office spaces

The summit will also be a showcase for the work of architectural students from University of Derby who were asked to provide visions for the key schemes within the City Centre Masterplan.

John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby, said: “Each year the Summit puts Derby at the centre of the property community, with a mixture of top quality presentations and discussion. We now attract over 350 professionals from key sectors, which gives us an opportunity to showcase the city’s future investment opportunities.

“The event has become a key date in the property and investor calendar, attracting visitors from around the globe.

“This year the Summit will include a mixture of presentations and interactive sessions to showcase how competitive collaboration is the future for cities.”

The event is part of the "Invest in D2N2" project, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Growth programme 2014-2020.

The project will bring new businesses and investment to the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership area (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire), by raising the profile of the area as a business location of choice.
