It has put a call out to local businesses and employers who would be willing to help bolster its workforce during the pandemic and are currently compiling a list of roles and skills that are needed which it will then match through a co-ordinated service with individuals who are able to help.

Individuals who offer to help in this way will receive appropriate induction and supervision and will either:

  • be employed and paid directly by the Trust/Local Authority/Primary Care Practice;

  • provide a service through an honorary contract/service level agreement with their current employer; or

  • asked to work on a voluntary basis.

It asks that those seeking to provide support during this critical time, contact uhdb.redeploymenthub@nhs.net.

In response to the NHS’s call for helpers made on Tuesday 24th March, at a national level, more than 400,000 people came forward to offer their services.
