Derby City Mission joins forces with rugby legends

Bondholder Derby City Mission, together with 100 World Rugby Legends, is organising a fundraising weekend in Derby for the benefit of both causes.

The fundraising weekend will be held on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 June.

Friday 21 June 2019 - Golf competition and golf dinner at Chevin Golf Club

Companies are invited to enter teams of three to play golf and each team will be joined by a rugby legend. Legends include Thom Evans of Strictly Come Dancing fame, his brother and fellow Scotland international Max and British Lion Alan Bateman. There will be a fundraising dinner and auction in the evening featuring a Q&A with the legends.

Saturday 22 June 2019 - 100 World Legends XV v Derby City Mission Invitation Vets XV – Rugby Match at Derby Rugby Club featuring a Q&A with the legends.

Derby City Mission Invitation Vets XV will pit their skills against a star-studded legends team featuring the likes of All Black Bruce Reihana, Samoan Junior Paramore, Scotland Internationals Dave Hilton, Ally Hogg and Fergus Thomson, and Ireland legends David Corkery and Andy Ward.

The entertainment begins at 12.00pm with lunch and a preview of the match which kicks off at 1:15pm.

Mums and dads of aspiring rugby players may wish their children to join a legends rugby coaching session which is free with admission tickets. Coaching is from 11.00am to 12.00pm.

The 100 World Legends is a charity set up by ex-professional rugby players to raise funds for various good causes. In addition to fundraising the 100 World Legends use their experience and skills to educate young people across the world in the values of rugby and help them understand how hard work and dedication can support them to achieve their goals.
