Workout welcome

A global fitness phenomenon has invested in Derby - join Bondholder Wellcomm Health & Fitness as it unveils its new Orangetheory Fitness studio this month.

Located at Wyvern Retail Park, the studio combines state-of-the-art equipment with coaching, technology and sports science to give people an innovative way to work up a sweat.

Its one-hour group sessions – an adrenaline-fuelled mix of cardio and strength-building exercises – are tailored to a participant’s ability and fitness levels, and are designed to burn calories for up to 36 hours afterwards.

Having already swept the US and proven popular around the globe, the Derby studio is the seventh to open in the country and the first in the East Midlands, employing 15 people including coaches, a studio manager and membership consultants.

During an open weekend, which takes place from 11th to 13th October, members of the team will demonstrate workouts, offer free fitness consultations and showcase the studio’s full body scanning technology. There is also going to be food and drink, competitions and special offers on membership.

Commenting on the launch, Matt Adey, Sales & Marketing Director, said:

“We are really excited about bringing the Orangetheory Fitness concept to Derby and building a new fitness community in the city. It doesn’t matter whether you are already a fitness fanatic or haven’t done any physical activity for years, because everyone works as their own pace, according to their fitness levels.”

He added that coaches work hard to create a fun and supportive environment for members to train: “Creating a strong sense of community is important to us, so don’t be surprised to see plenty of high fives and words of encouragement from our coaches.”
