'Celebrating Innovation' was the theme running through this year's packed Marketing Derby Annual Business Event held at Bondholder Derby Theatre.
The event, attended by 500 delegates, was a celebration of recent investments, achievements and future talent. Marketing Derby Managing Director, John Forkin outlined how Bondholders were supporting the company in attracting thousands of jobs into the city.
Marketing Derby showcased its approach to inward investment and the 'red carpet' tools it offers to investors and businesses alike. This activity has earned the inward investment agency recognition in the Financial Times fDi intelligence Strategy Awards 2018 as having the Best Investment Promotion Agency digital presence in the world, ahead of New York and Hong Kong.
A leaders' panel chaired by Steve Hall included Kath Mitchell, Vice Chancellor of the University of Derby, Liz Fothergill, Chair of Penine Healthcare and Trustee of Derby Museums, Bob Betts, Chair of Marketing Derby and John Forkin. The discussion ranged from Derby's High Street and what can be done to encourage the use of empty buildings to the need for city living.
Delegates were also given a premiere viewing of Marketing Derby's new films produced by Bondholders.
