The managing directors of Bondholders HSG and G Wathall & Son will represent the East Midlands in the national Institute of Directors awards in October 2018.

Both were chosen from the hundreds of directors who entered into one of the IoD’s 13 heats across the UK in ten different categories.

The overall winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 18 October 2018 at the Royal Horticultural Halls.

Simon Rice from washroom services and water conservation specialists HSG in Pride Park is amongst the finalists in the Innovation award.

Meanwhile Helen Wathall, managing director and the fifth generation of her family to head up G Wathall & Son, will represent the region in the Corporate Responsibility Award category.

HSG recently gained The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for its unique Ureco water conservation system and has also developed the Cleen App and Dashboard – hailed as the ‘Trip Advisor’ for washrooms.

Wathall’s are Derby’s longest established independent funeral directors and celebrate their 160th anniversary this year.  The company, which now has offices in Derby, Alvaston, Borrowash and Ashbourne has been widely recognised for its contribution to local communities across all of its pre-need, funeral planning and bereavement support services.
