Bondholder Stuart Mobility Limited in Willington is a finalist in the Retail Excellence of the Midlands Family Business Awards, the UK’s only independent, not-for-profit annual Awards showcase for family businesses in the Midlands.

Stuart Mobility, which specialises in rise and recline chairs as well as healthcare and bespoke seating, was started in May 2015 by husband and wife duo Justina and Stuart as they wanted to create more transparency, clearer pricing and better service within the industry.

Keen to use British suppliers and focus on supplying the latest in technological advancements to help people live independently they wanted to create a service that offered individuals products that made a difference yet were affordable. The company is unique in that it is neither a mobility shop nor a furniture shop. The company retails to all over the UK including individuals, the NHS and specialist care organisations.

It has also more than doubled its turnover for the second year running and hopes to achieve more of the same in its current year of trading.

As a result of its finalist status the company is also automatically entered into the People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Streets Chartered Accountants. The Winner and Highly Commended of this special award are decided solely by the number of votes from the public, and votes can be made online at www.familybusinessawards.co.uk from the 1st to 31st October 2018.

Commenting on being named a finalist in the Awards, Justina Nurse, Director and Co-owner of Stuart Mobility said: “This is our first award nomination and we are so proud to be recognised. One of the reasons for starting this business was to help our sons, especially Fred who is autistic, so these Family Awards are a perfect fit”
