Inspire young people with your own story

Inspiring young people and preparing them for the world of work - Enterprise for Education (E4E), is a Derby-based initiative (founded by Bondholder Derby City Council) which links employers with schools and students in a bid to raise aspirations, create a better understanding about career opportunities and improve employability skills amongst our young people.

After their growing popularity over the last academic year, E4E will be delivering over 50 careers talks again this academic year 2018 – 2019. They have dedicated volunteers who are keen to share their experiences of challenges and success with the young people of Derby. However, with such a huge number of talks scheduled for this year, E4E are looking for even more volunteers from a wide range of professions to speak-up about their career journeys.

The E4E team have a wide range of hints and tips and can offer lots of advice and support to helping volunteers along their journey.

The team are able to discuss what type of approach will be best received by young people and how to target the presentation to different ages of audience, whether you might be brand new to delivering careers talks or simply want a refresher.

This could also be the perfect opportunity for you, or perhaps people you know to improve their public speaking and presentation skills!

If these volunteering opportunities may be of interest to you, please contact a member of the team today at e4evolunteer@derby.gov.uk
