Ryan Duckett, commercial director of Bondholder Derbyshire County Cricket Club, hailed its growth in non-sport related revenue after the recent Little Mix concert was held at the The 3aaa County Ground.

In recent years, the club has grown the number of non-cricket events held at the ground, including concerts, weddings, meetings and private functions.

The growth of these events provide the club with crucial additional revenue streams, as it looks to reduce its reliance on ECB and continue its investment on the field and in facilities at The 3aaa County Ground for all visitors.

It comes after the club posted a record level of turnover for its latest financial year, as well as achieving a surplus for the period.

Duckett said: "We have a clear strategy to reduce our reliance on ECB revenues and we can only do this by growing our non-cricket and conference and events business.

"The events business now makes up over £1.2m of sales.

"After the success of the Elton John concert last year, it was important that we followed it up with another major event in 2018."
