YMCA celebrates youth skills

Bondholder YMCA were supported by fellow Bondholders Derbyshire Police's Safer Neighbourhood and Derby County Community Trust as well as mental health charity HeadHigh, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and Trent Barton as they celebrated the achievements of their young people.

Residents and Key College learners were on hand to showcase their achievements.  Guests were able to take part in a variety of interactive activities and information stands from YMCA and partner / community organisations:

They also welcomed Sandy Ryan, Team GB medal-winning boxer, to talk to guests, residents and learners.

The event coincided with the monthly Community Meal held at YMCA in partnership with HeadHigh.  The meal is sponsored by a business each month as they support both charities in their bid to get people together.  This month the event was supported by Trent Barton.

Kate Gillespie, Head of Accommodation and Support Services, said: "This celebration brought our community together, enabling our partner organisations and local businesses to come to our Foyer and see first-hand the hard work and talents of the young people we work with. Thank you to Trent Barton and our Key College learners for providing the refreshments, and to everyone who supported our event."
