Marketing Derby Bondholders Burnthebook and Déda have joined forces with Derby Book Festival to organise an event showcasing their pooled creativity and shared values of promoting literacy amongst young families.
Burnthebook, a full service creative agency in Pride Park, have worked with award-winning author, illustrator and artist Laura Wall and secured her appearance at Déda as part of Derby Book Festival.
They will stage a fifth birthday party tomorrow (Friday June 8) for ‘Goose’ – the star of Laura’s worldwide series of ‘Goose & Friends’ books which are read by families across the world.
Burnthebook have designed and produced a reusable goody bag for young party guests including a signed copy of ‘Happy Birthday Goose’ for children to read at home and a discount code for parents to buy online at the new e-commerce website www.gooseandfriends.com which the agency has designed and developed.
The team at Déda will stage special lighting and music for the event and will screen a flipbook, created by Burnthebook, to bring the words to life. Meanwhile the actions will be mimed by a Derby Book Festival volunteer dressed in a giant Goose costume to engage with the young audience.
Burnthebook Director Jackie Clark said: “Words are our trade and one of our key brand purposes is to encourage literacy in the very young.
“Bringing Laura to Derby Book Festival and sponsoring this event is therefore a highly effective showcase for our creative business whilst supporting the work of the hugely successful Derby Book Festival.
“It shows just what can be achieved by bringing together different expertise and a shared passion for the cultural and educational needs across the city.”
