Bondholder Berkeley Inns is celebrating as The Cow at Dalbury Lees has been named at number one in the The Times Weekend supplement of 'Britain's 30 best summer pubs'
Re-opened in December 2017, after renovation and extension the Cow forms part of Berkeley Inns pub restaurant group.
The Cow topped the charts at number one with a fantastic review from travel writer Tom Chesshyre.
Talking about his stay at The Cow Tom wrote:
"Enjoy a good pint of ale or a glass of fine wine while sitting on a milk churn converted into a bar stool at this jolly pub in the village of Dalbury Lees. It's a perfect base for walkers: the Derbyshire and Peak District countryside is on your doorstep. The dozen refitted rooms, each a decent size, have a pared-down style with reclaimed wood and lamps made from old machine parts (the owners have made ingenious use of reclaimed objects throughout). The restaurant serves a tapas-style menu; I can recommend the pheasant casserole."
Commenting about the review Head of Group Business Development Amelia Horne said: "We're absolutely thrilled the hard work of our team has received national recognition from such a prestigious newspaper. Our team are relentless in their quest for the exacting high standards that we have set and put their heart and soul into the establishment; to receive praise such as this from such a well-travelled and respected travel writer is amazing."
"Thank you also to the team at Derby Tourism who work tirelessly to promote Derby and Derbyshire as a place to visit and stay. It is by way of their introduction to such journalists that provide the opportunity for us to impress them with our Hotel and Restaurants"
