Record Busting Charity Year at Franklands

A flurry of festive fund raising activities, in December, brought the curtain down for Bondholder Franklands’ 2017 chosen charity, Me & Dee.

The final amount raised over the year was £8,800, a record for Franklands with the major contribution being over £7,000 raised under the banner of “Franklands to the sea for Me & Dee”, a 92 mile sponsored walk from their Derby office to the charity’s seaside base in Mablethorpe, completed in under 55 hours.

Me & Dee is a Derby based charity which provides holidays for both adults and children with a life threatening and terminal condition and for physically and emotionally injured service men and women, to make special family memories when time is very short and precious.

Franklands’ Charity coordinator Lorraine Newham-Miles said “The Me & Dee charity is a fantastic cause that provides support for families in their most difficult times and we were overwhelmed by the engagement of our staff and the compassion of the many clients and professional contacts who supported the cause."
