Opening success for Annie

On 1st December Bondholder Annie's Burger Shack opened in Derby, in the former First Church of Christ Scientist on Friary Street. The amazing Art Deco building has been sympathetically converted into a stunning 168 seater restaurant, and even has its own pub next door, The Portside Tavern, which serves some great drinks from local breweries including Derventio and Dancing Duck.

In the first seven days of opening Annie's served almost 3,200 meals; owner Anmarie Spaziano has been absolutely overwhelmed by the tremendously warm welcome the Burger Shack has received from the people of Derbyshire.

Annie’s Burger Shack is a New England themed restaurant serving over 34 authentically American delicious handcrafted burgers and a fantastic range of individually selected Real Ales and drinks. Every single one of the menu items is offered as vegan, veggie or meaty; Annie believes strongly in inclusivity in the dining experience, whatever the dietary requirements.

Opening Derby’s Annie’s Burger Shack has been a labour of love but was a natural progression for Annie who had her first experience of England when she visited Ashbourne in 1994 on a work experience programme. Annie still credits her time in Derbyshire for giving her a love of real ale which is why she’s extremely pleased to offer some of her favourites in Derby. The amazing new venue has had some incredible reactions from customers – with most people never having previously seen inside.

To continue the opening celebrations, Annie’s will be throwing a New Year’s Eve Party from 9.30pm. The full menu will be available and guests will receive a welcome drink, glass of fizz at midnight and a great DJ playing some classic floorfillers to herald in 2019!
