Bondholder Derby City Council has announced that Enterprise for Education (E4E) is to run ‘Just Imagine Working Here’ for its fourth year in June 2019 and is looking for more businesses than ever to take part.
This exciting initiative aims to connect businesses and organisations across Derby with local primary schools to give them their first taste of the world of work. By letting students see the wide variety of job roles that exist within companies, they can begin to see the opportunities that lie on their doorstep and, all-importantly, helping to raise aspirations.
The project started in 2015 and since then, each year, approximately 20 schools have been partnered with a wide range of local businesses including Bondholders Rolls-Royce, Flower World, Toyota and QUAD.
Employers from various sectors host visits and as such, students have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities and speak to staff from many different professions.
Derby City Council want ‘Just Imagine Working Here’ to be bigger and better than ever in 2019 and would love to have you on board, so if you think your business (or one you know) would like to take part or would like to receive more information, then please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org.
Councillor Evonne Williams, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “This is a great programme providing really valuable experiences for our young people. It gives them a glimpse into the world of work, a chance to meet and talk to workers and an opportunity to think about careers they may not have considered previously.
“It would be fantastic to get more businesses than ever on board this year to give these pupils a great variety of experiences.”
