Bondholder Cameron Homes has won a prestigious national housing award in the best apartment category.
The Lakeside Apartments at Barton Marina, built by Bondholder Cameron Homes, triumphed in the UK Property Awards’ best apartment scheme category.
The recently-completed development features 54 two-bedroom apartments and penthouses.
Representatives of family-owned Cameron Homes, which is this year marking its 25th anniversary, will attend an awards ceremony in London to receive their accolade.
Chief operations officer Paul Morrisey said that he was delighted with the award, particularly as the development had received a highly commended prize in a design competition earlier this year.
“We are delighted to be voted as the best apartment scheme in this competition, which attracted entries from some of the largest house builders in the country,” he said.
He added that the Lakeside Apartments had proved to be one of Cameron’s most successful projects, attracting strong interest since its launch and selling out earlier this year.
All the homes, built in three blocks linked by a gatehouse in a carefully landscaped environment, either have views over the marina, which features 300 boats, restaurants, bars, a cinema and delicatessen, or they face the large lake, woodland and towpaths.
“A new community has been created at Barton Marina and we are delighted it has been recognised in this highly-competitive awards scheme,” Paul said.
Cameron Homes is now starting work on another major housing initiative - its Lawnswood site in Tatenhill - part of the major Branston Locks development which will include commercial, educational and community facilities.
In its first phase here the firm is building a selection of 70 four and five bedroom properties which will go on sale early next year.
