Mike Copestake, who recently stepped down as Chairman of the Marketing Derby board, was presented with a framed image to thank him for his time and dedication.
Mike took the opportunity to remind the business community of the importance of the work of Enterprise for Education (E4E) is.
Reading a quote, from a Derby school, about one of their pupil premium students mentored by an E4E mentor, Mike said: "Improved her grades in 7 out of 9 exam subjects.She sat her English Language exam early (Y10) and achieved her target grade of B (she was working at a D before mentoring began). Her attendance remained at 100% throughout."
E4E mentor students who are struggling and are in danger of becoming NEET. Mike said that E4E’s target this year was to double the number of interventions in schools in and around Derby and appealed for more volunteers to help with Mentoring, CV writing, Careers advice and Interview techniques as well as volunteers for school governors and Enterprise Advisers.
