Bondholder Derby Grammar School is celebrating as its GCSE results mean the School is second in the East Midlands for boys independent schools according to the ISC League Table 2017, with 72% of passes at A*, A or 7+, and two pupils achieving straight A* and 9 grades.
35% of A Level passes are at A* or A grade. Philip Holloway achieved 4 A* passes and is now off to Cambridge to read Natural Sciences and Physics.
Acting Head, Lesley Reynolds, commented: “we are absolutely delighted with what our pupils have achieved this year. They have ably demonstrated their ability across all of their subjects. Pupils and staff have worked hard together, and that hard work is evidenced by a set of outstanding results.
"We are looking forward to a busy and successful 2017-18 academic year. We have already welcomed Kim Barnett to officially open our new dedicated sports facility, Rykneld Sports Centre; and our new website has launched which captures what we do at Derby Grammar School and showcases our pupils’ achievements and successes.”
