Bondholder PMW Property has been granted permission to build 10 commercial units on Tetron Point business park, in Swadlincote, which could create hundreds of jobs when complete. The developer has also said it has struck a deal with two major national companies.
South Derbyshire District Council has approved the plans, which includes 4,500 square metre building, which includes 10 units ranging in size from 374 square metres to 520 square metres.
Mike Wrigley, Founder of PMW Property, said: "We have already completed pre-development deals with two major national companies who are looking for long-term commitments in Swadlincote. There has been a great deal of interest in the remaining eight units.
"South Derbyshire is a location where we have been keen to acquire sites for a long time. We are very much looking forward to working in the area.
"This will be an important development for the economic growth of Swadlincote, complementing the existing businesses in the area. We have gone out to tender for the construction phase and, subject to conditions, we expect work to begin on site in October of this year."
