David Boutcher, Partner at global law firm Reed Smith, has been named by Marketing Derby as the Chair of the London chapter of the Derby Ambassador Club.
The club aims to bring together Derbians who are based in the capital to act as ambassadors for Derby, endorsing the city’s investment offer.
This innovative approach recognises that Derby’s talent has a wide reach and the club, which will be launched at City Hall in London Bridge in the autumn, will serve a social and investment purpose.
David Boutcher said: “I am thrilled to be chair of the new London chapter of the Derby Ambassador Club for Marketing Derby, and very much look forward to connecting with fellow Londoners from Derby who share the passion for our great city, and want to spread the word about its fantastic and innovative development.”
John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby, said: “The London chapter of the Derby Ambassadors Club represents the next stage of Marketing Derby’s evolution. As a company Marketing Derby has always been pro-active in its approach to investment. This new chapter not only allows Marketing Derby to go directly to where much of the investment is, but provides us with a whole host of Ambassadors to help spread the word about Derby.”
The club is a part of Marketing Derby’s heightened London activity, which began earlier this year with the opening of a London base in the Moorgate area.
Marketing Derby will be hosting numerous events in the capital this summer, including a Big Talk at Reed Smith’s offices, which will feature in the next issue of Agenda. The talk will focus on the ‘view from the capital – the perception of Derby as a place to live, work and play’
The club will be officially launched at Marketing Derby’s next Embassy to be held in October.
