Bondholder QUAD is once again part of the Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisations after the funding awards for the next four years were announced this week.
Adam Buss, QUAD CEO said “QUAD is once again very excited to be part of the Arts Council National Portfolio. This is a significant vote of confidence in the work that happens both here at QUAD and in Derby as a whole to use the arts as a powerful tool to inspire audiences and change people’s lives for the better.
"Arts Council have committed to over £10million of investment to Derby over the next four years and this is a reflection of the partnership ethos that is evidenced by events such as FORMAT (the UK’s leading photography festival), Festé, (one of the largest street arts festivals in the UK) and the recent Derby Remembers campaign all of which attract thousands of visitors to the city, many for the first time.
"Derby now has eight national portfolio organisations, the most in our history, and we would like to congratulate our partners Baby People, Déda, Derby Museums, Derby Theatre, EMCCAN and Viva. We would also like to celebrate the inclusion of Artcore into the national portfolio and look forward to working with them in the future as another vital part of the cultural life of the city.”
Peter Knott, Area Director, Arts Council England said: "Derby QUAD brings creative media, visual arts and photography to the heart of Derbyshire and we're delighted to be investing in them over the next four years.
"From their internationally recognised FORMAT festival to their workshops for local people, Derby QUAD have shown that they are committed to providing arts for everyone, and it will be great to see them go from strength to strength."
