Rolls-Royce has had a hugely significant year in 2017. The global business giant has its corporate, aerospace and nuclear headquarters based in Derby, employing 15,000 people.
Following approval on their £650m aerospace campus refurbishment, the company’s global headquarters has started to see major changes, with major infrastructure and demolition works underway. This is set to have a major impact, bringing the campus into the 21st century and beyond.
The aerospace orderbook now tops £70 billion, whilst the company is also looking to the future with research currently underway to develop electric aerospace engines and small nuclear power stations.
This all adds up to a significant commitment to Derby, and provides further confidence for the supply chain cluster based in the area.
