Bondholder Matthew Montague Architects has announced that it will be merging with Montague Architects.
After 48 years Montague Architects will close its premises on Vernon Street in Derby and the team will join Matthew and his team at their newly refurbished offices in Longford, Ashbourne forming one practice.
Montague Architects was established in 1969 by Matthew’s Father; and subsequently Jeff James, Paul McLocklin and Dave Swann have successfully run the business for many years building an enviable portfolio of projects and clients.
After 45 years at Montague Architects Jeff will be moving on to pursue other interests, as will Dave who has been with the practice 28 years whilst Paul will join Matthew and his team as a consultant.
Jeff said “I have had a fantastic career spanning 45 years with Montague Architects, I have been privileged to be involved with many inspirational developments across the Midlands over the years and I can’t think of a better way to take our business forward than by merging with Matthew and his team.”
Matthew said “I wish Jeff and David all the very best for the future and I am delighted to welcome Paul on board, he brings a wealth of experience. I know that my father would be delighted with this merger, and that his legacy will continue.”
From the 31 October all current and new projects will be designed, managed and completed under Matthew Montague Architects.
Matthew added “we are looking forward to growing our current team and welcoming 5 new team members to our offices in Longford. The larger team will enable us to take on more projects. We will continue to focus on commercial, education, sports and residential projects”.
