The National Construction Academy (NCA) — part of Bondholder 3aaa — is set to be officially opened by television personality Nick Knowles on Friday 14th October.
The Academy has been set up to address the skills shortage in the construction industry through the delivery of high quality, industry-focused apprenticeship programmes.
Knowles is a strong supporter of the Academy, having recently taken up the role of President of NCA, and has used his experience of the industry to influence the development of the programmes.
The opening on 20 Downing Road in Derby's city centre will feature a schedule of events culminating with Knowles demolishing a wall to officially declare the Academy open.
Ian Hodgkinson, co-founder of NCA and owner of Bondholder Hodgkinson Builders, said: "It is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the progress made so far. We welcome all employers and young people to attend to give them the opportunity to see the fantastic opportunities available within the building trade for apprentices and employers who embrace apprenticeships to grow their business."
